📌 About This Scheme
Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakram (JSSK) ek bahut hi krantikari yojana hai jo pregnant women aur bimar bacchon (ek saal tak) ke liye banayi gayi hai. Iske tehat sarkari hospital mein delivery bilkul FREE hoti hai, chahe woh normal delivery ho ya phir bada operation (C-section). Pehle logo ko lagta tha ki sarkari hospital mein bhi paise lagenge, lekin JSSK ke aane ke baad sab kuch cashless ho gaya hai. Na sirf delivery, balki sabhi zaroori dawaiyan (medicines), blood tests (diagnostics), aur hospital mein rehne ke dauran milne wala khana (diet) bhi bilkul muft hai. Yahan tak ki agar ghar se hospital aana ho ya hospital se wapas jana ho, toh ambulance ki suvidha bhi bina kisi paise ke di jati hai. This scheme aims to eliminate out-of-pocket expenses for families. JSSK newborn infants (upto 1 year) ko bhi cover karta hai, jisme unka pura ilaaj free hota hai. This initiative has been a game-changer in reducing the burden of medical costs on poor families. All public health institutions are mandated to provide these services without any cost. No user charges are to be levied for any of these facilities. This entitlement-based approach has encouraged more people to trust public health systems. It is estimated that JSSK has saved millions of families from falling into poverty due to high healthcare costs related to childbirth. The scheme is monitored closely to ensure that no patient is asked for money inside the hospital premises. JSSK is a shining example of 'Universal Healthcare' in the field of maternal and child health in India.
