PM-Kisan is one of the world's largest Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) schemes designed specifically for the small and marginal farmers of India. Iske tehat Bharat sarkar har saal kisanon ko ₹6,000 ki arthik sahayata deti hai. Ye paisa ₹2,000 ki teen barabar kishton (installments) mein har 4 mahine mein seedha kisan ke bank account mein transfer kiya jata hai. Iska mukhya maqsad kisanon ko beej (seeds), khad (fertilizers) aur kheti ke upkaran kharidne mein madad karna hai taaki unhe sahukaaron (moneylenders) se uchi byaj dar par karz na lena pade. Sabhi landholding farmer families iske liye eligible hain, halanki kuch exclusions hain jaise income tax payers aur retired government employees. Is scheme ne rural economy ko kaafi boost diya hai. Har installment se pehle e-KYC hona zaroori hai taaki bhrashtachar na ho aur sahi kisan ko hi paisa mile. PM-Kisan portal par kisan apni status khud check kar sakte hain aur agar koi samasya ho toh helpline par baat kar sakte hain. Scheme ki transparency digital technology ki wajah se bahut badh gayi hai. Sarkar ka manna hai ki kisan desh ki reedh ki haddi hain, aur unhe samay par paisa milne se kheti ki paidawar (Productivity) badhti hai. It provides a sense of social security and dignity to the farming community. Direct transfer mechanism ensures zero leakages, meaning 100% of the money reaches the farmer. Since its launch, more than 11 crore farmers have been benefitted. The initiative is a step towards doubling farmers' income as envisioned by the Prime Minister. It covers all agricultural land-holding families, provided they meet the basic eligibility criteria set by the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
