Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana (PMKSY) was launched with the motto of 'Har Khet Ko Pani' (Water for every farm) and 'Per Drop More Crop'. Is yojana ka mukhya uddeshya kheti mein sinchai (irrigation) ki suvidha ko badhava dena aur pani ki barbad kam karna hai. Bharat mein kheti kaafi had tak monsoon par nirbhar rehti hai, isliye PMKSY ke tehat kuan (wells), talaab (ponds), aur check dams banaye jate hain taaki kisanon ko barah mahine pani mil sake. 'Per Drop More Crop' pillar ke tehat Drip Irrigation aur Sprinkler Irrigation systems par bhari subsidy di jati hai (lagbhag 55% se 80% tak). Ye technology pani ko seedha paudhon ki jaddon (roots) tak pahunchati hai, jisse pani ki bachat hoti hai aur paidawar (productivity) badhti hai. PMKSY kisanon ko water management sikhane ke liye training aur awareness programs bhi chalata hai. Isme 'Micro Irrigation Fund' ka bhi pravdhan hai jo states ko sinchai ke infrastructure develop karne mein madad karta hai. Soil Health aur Sinchai ka sahi talmel kisanon ki aay (income) ko double karne mein bahut bada yogdan deta hai. Is yojana ke char pramukh components hain: Accelerated Irrigation Benefit Programme (AIBP), Har Khet Ko Pani, Per Drop More Crop, aur Watershed Development. Watershed component ke tehat pahadi aur sukhe kshetron mein rain-water harvesting par zor diya jata hai. Sinchai ki suvidha badhne se kisan saal mein do ya teen fasalein (crops) uga sakte hain. Isse rural employment bhi badhta hai. Digital mapping aur geo-tagging ke zariye projects ki monitoring ki jati hai. Sinchai projects ka benefit seedha chote aur simant (small and marginal) kisanon ko pahunchta hai. By ensuring water security, the scheme aims to build a drought-resilient agriculture system in India. PMKSY encourages the use of solar pumps along with irrigation kits for sustainable farming.
