SSC MTS Aur Havaldar Job Profile: Salary, Duties Aur Promotion Ki Ground Reality

Staff Selection Commission ka Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) aur CBIC/CBN me Havaldar ka exam 10th pass candidates ke liye hota hai, lekin ground reality ye hai ki isme 80% select hone wale candidates Graduates ya Post-Graduates hote hain. Jo candidate B.Tech ya B.A karke is job me aate hain, unke mind me ek bada stigma (sharam) hota hai ki 'kya mujhe office me jhadu-pocha ya chai pilane ka kaam karna padega?'. Ye ek bahut bada myth hai jise clear karna zaroori hai. Iske alawa, CBIC me Havaldar post ko lekar bhi physical duties ka darr rehta hai. 1. MTS (Multi Tasking Staff) Ki Actual Duties

Central Government me 'Group D' cadre ko abolish (khatam) kar diya gaya hai aur use 'Group C' (MTS) me upgrade kar diya gaya hai. MTS ka primary kaam administrative support dena hai. Aaj ke digital India me, ek educated MTS se mostly file maintenance, dispatch (dak handling), photocopy, scanning, aur e-office portal par data entry assistance ka kaam liya jata hai.

Chai pilana ya safai karna MTS ka kaam nahi hota. Iske liye departments ab specialized agency se outsourcing (contractual workers) hire karte hain. Ek graduate MTS usually LDC (Lower Division Clerk) ke assisting role me desk par baithta hai, section officer ki files manage karta hai, aur office routine work dekhta hai.

2. Havaldar In CBIC/CBN (Customs And Narcotics)

  • Nature of Work: CBIC (Customs, Excise) aur CBN (Narcotics) me Havaldar ek uniformed job hai. Yahan aapka kaam inspector level officers ko field raids, search operations, aur office security me assist karna hota hai.
  • Physical Demands: Ye job thodi physically active hai. Airports, seaports, ya tax offices me security duty ya gate guarding ka kaam shift-wise ho sakta hai.
  • Perks: Uniform allowance aur thodi zyada respect milti hai field me, lekin yahan public holidays me bhi duty lag sakti hai (shifts ke hisab se).

3. Salary And Perks (X, Y, Z Cities)

MTS ek Level 1 (Grade Pay 1800) ki post hai. Iski initial basic salary ₹18,000 hoti hai. Agar aapki posting Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata jaise 'X' tier city me hoti hai, to DA (Dearness Allowance), HRA (27%), aur TA milakar aapki starting In-Hand Salary lagbhag ₹30,000 se ₹33,000 ke beech banti hai.

Y aur Z cities me HRA kam hone ki wajah se in-hand salary ₹27,000 - ₹29,000 ke aas-paas rehti hai. Iske sath hi CGHS health card aur government quarter milne ki suvidha (subject to availability) bhi hoti hai.

4. Promotion Structure (LDC se UDC tak)

Ek MTS ke paas departmental exams (Limited Departmental Competitive Exam - LDCE) de kar aage badhne ka behtareen mauka hota hai. Normally 3 saal ki regular service poori karne ke baad MTS se LDC (Lower Division Clerk - 1900 GP) banne ka exam de sakte hain.

LDC banne ke baad aap UDC (Upper Division Clerk - 2400 GP) aur uske baad Assistant ya Section Officer tak ja sakte hain. Agar aap graduation background se hain, to apne higher exams (CGL/CHSL) ki preparation bhi office me free time me kar sakte hain, jisse MTS ko ek excellent 'stepping stone' (seedhi) mana jata hai.
