7th CPC Pay Matrix Samajhye: Grade Pay, Basic, Aur In-Hand Salary

6 min readSarkari Afsar Editorial

Government job notifications me salary ko Pay Level (jaise Level 4, Level 7) ya Grade Pay ke terms me likha jata hai. Candidates aksar basic pay ko hi in-hand salary samajh lete hain, ya deductions ko bhool jate hain. Real in-hand salary Basic Pay ke upar DA (Dearness Allowance), HRA (House Rent Allowance), aur TA (Transport Allowance) add karke banti hai, jisme se NPS aur taxes deduct hote hain. Is post me hum Pay Matrix ko decode karenge taaki aap kisi bhi notification ko dekh kar apni actual in-hand salary ka estimate laga sakein.

1. Pay Level Aur Basic Pay

  • 7th Pay Commission ne Grade Pay ko 'Pay Levels' (Level 1 to 18) me convert kar diya hai.
  • Har level ki ek starting Basic Pay hoti hai (Jaise Level 1 ki 18,000 aur Level 7 ki 44,900).
  • Ye Basic Pay aapki fix hoti hai, aur saare allowances isi par calculate hote hain.

2. Allowances (Paisa Jo Add Hota Hai)

Basic pay ke upar aapko DA milta hai jo inflation ke hisab se saal me do baar badhta hai. HRA aapki posting city (X, Y, Z category) par depend karta hai. Metro cities (X) me HRA sabse zyada hota hai, jabki rural areas (Z) me kam.

Iske alawa Transport Allowance (TA) aur kuch special allowances (agar post demand kare) add hote hain. In sabko milakar aapki 'Gross Salary' banti hai.

3. Deductions (Paisa Jo Cut Hota Hai)

  • NPS (National Pension System): Basic + DA ka 10% deduct hota hai (Govt apni taraf se 14% add karti hai).
  • CGHS/State Health Scheme: Medical benefits ke liye ek fix amount cut hota hai.
  • Professional Tax aur Income Tax (TDS) applicable slabs ke hisab se deduct hote hain.
